The Earth Shine Institute recognizes young scientists whose exhibits at the Thomas Alva Edison Regional Science and Inventors Fair reflect an understanding of the Lindberghs’ vision of a balance between the technological advancements they helped pioneer, and the natural environment they cherished. These talented young scientists receive a $1,500.00 scholarship towards their college education. Since 2003 (the program’s inaugural year honoring the 100th anniversary of powered flight) has awarded 22 scholarships and four special awards.
